Show Your Support at the St Tammany Library Board Meeting

The purpose of attending this meeting is to show your support for our libraries and stand against calls for censorship being made by a small group within our parish. All of the Library Board Meetings are open to the public. The meeting agenda will be focused on a variety ongoing library issues,  as well as the library's Rules and Regulations: Section 407 Challenged materials & Section 409 Access to materials by minors. There will be an opportunity for the public to speak. In order to speak, you must arrive early and fill out a public comment card. The meeting technically begins at 6:30, but we're trying to pack the room with supporters, so please consider arriving at 5:30. Do not let this discourage you. We need your help.

Our library board has not removed any challenged books so far. Their public stance is that the library is for everyone. Please consider thanking the board, the library Director Kelly LaRocca and our local librarians for the outstanding jobs they are doing.

If you haven't been following this issue over the past few months, we highly recommend reading through the information on this background page.

You are not required to RSVP for this event, but we've enabled the option as it may make it easier for you to add it to your calendar or find the relevant details in your email.

View the official meeting agenda here.

Many of our members will be wearing all white and/or rainbow colors to help identify each other. We invite you to do the same.
